About Us

Learn a bit more about the network and the beast behind it.

So What Do We Have Here?

Crow Based Network is a labour of love that really got going about six or seven years ago. However, before CBN got its legs, there was a titan of a network before it called Legacy of Dystrophy. In an era where visual kei was a great part of the creator's life, LoD reached out to musicians, photographers, other translators, journalists, and more to try and make VK more understandable and accessible for those in the US.

The goal was hit hard and fast, but even still, the creator felt aimless. And after a series of disbandments and personal obstacles, LoD was put on indefinite hiatus until it came to a silent, unceremonious close.

Once LoD closed, there was a long period of introspection and deliberation about where to go from here. There was still that itch, too, to make something interesting but maybe not as bombastic. Crow Based was given life as a small test, mostly to nail copywriting gigs and reenter the world of blogging. However, it wasn't long before more and more dreams were dumped into the new network.

As it is, Crow Based Network is a stand alone hub for the creator's interests and ambitions while also drawing in those who want to be apart of something grand and amazing.

And Who is "The Creator"?

Because I could not stop for Death | He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves | And Immortality.

We slowly drove – He knew no haste | And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too | For His Civility –

The creator goes by different names depending on the project and/or subject matter. However, the safest catch all is NIL. They are an actual creature of the Void with absolutely no memory (or understanding) of when or how they were born, only that they emerged from the red clay of the Dirty South and never stopped.

NIL (that's me!) is a nonbinary busybody who tries to uplift others while also building their own skills. Though not always the most focused individual and sometimes takes on seven too many projects, they believe strongly in their goals and wish to see them achieved no matter how long it takes.
